ASSISTIVE DEVICES

Aids and Appliances:
The agency stocks catalogs featuring many adaptive devices. Some commonly used types of adaptive devices include talking clocks and watches, writing guides, and large print or braille calendars. Many of these items are available for sale at MAB.

Magnification devices come in a wide range of sizes, powers, and capabilities. Successful use of a magnifier results not only from being paired with the appropriate device for one's vision,  but also from training in proper use and care of the device. Consumers are encouraged to seek professional assistance and training from a Certified Low Vision Therapist before purchasing magnification devices. Contact MAB for additional information.
