  • American Blind Skiing Foundation –Non-profit based in Illinois providing skiing experiences for visually impaired children and adults.
  • Blind Sailing International –Recreational and competitive sailing for persons who are blind or visually impaired. BSI has a bid to participate in the 2016 Olympics.

  • Challenge Aspen –Providing life-changing outdoor adventures for children and adults with cognitive or physical challenges.

  • Courage Center Handiham System –Providing learning and licensure opportunities for people with disabilities interested in Amateur Radio.
  • Disabled Sports USA –Non-profit seeking to provide opportunities for participation in community sports, recreation and educational programs. Find the chapter in your region.
  • Handicapped Scuba Association –Providing dive experiences and vacation opportunities for adults with disability. Search for a certified trainer in your state.
  • International Blind Sport Federation –Non-profit based in Spain, IBSA represents sports for the blind in the International Paralympic Committee. See USABA.
  • Judo for Blind Athletes –Martial Arts training for the visually impaired.
  • Media Access Group at WBGH –An organization dedicated to providing accessible media. Offers information on captioning and descriptive video for several media formats, as well as a full list of DVD titles with DVS.
  • Music for the Blind –Audio courses for learning to play various instruments for beginners. Pay per course.
  • National Beep Ball Association –The adaptive version of America’s favorite pastime. Find state teams. Email the Charlotte team, Carolina Warriors.
  • National Camps for Blind Children and Adults –A project of Christian Record Services which offers camp opportunities free of charge across the U.S.
  • Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship International –Service that seeks to change and enrich lives by promoting excellence in equine-assisted activities and therapies. For persons of all ages with disability or challenges.
  • Skating Athletes Bold At Heart –Therapeutic ice-skating for persons with special needs. Based in New York.
  • Ski for Light –Non-profit based in Minnesota providing cross-country skiing experiences for visually and mobility impaired adults.
  • Space Camp for Interested Visually Impaired Students –An annual camp for students grades 4-12 held at the U.S. Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville, AL.
  • United States Association of Blind Athletes –National non-profit providing athletic opportunities in a variety of sports for individuals with vision impairment. Events held nationally and internationally. Member of ISBA.
  • United States Blind Golf Association –Provides golf training and conducts national tournaments for adults competing in one of three categories determined by vision loss.
  • United States Braille Chess Association –Members compete in real-time via the internet with blind chess players across the nation. Participate in two free instructional courses through Hadley School for the Blind and earn two years of free membership.
  • U.S. Adaptive Recreation Center –Based in California, facilitates challenging and adventurous recreational programs for people with disabilities.
  • World Goalball Association –Provides history, official rules, media coverage, international schedule, and info for finding local organizations of the team sport designed for visually impaired athletes.
