COUNSELING

Clients may request individual or family counseling from their case manager/social worker. Counseling may be requested if a client is having a difficult time adjusting emotionally to their vision loss. Family counseling may be appropriate if family members need help coping with the vision loss as well. A program is then discussed and agreed upon by the case manager and all involved parties.

Group Counseling
The goal of group counseling is to assist the clients in coping with the emotional adjustment to vision loss by providing support from the group leader and other group members. An additional goal is to inform clients about resources for persons with low vision or total blindness in the Charlotte Metro Area.
