MINI CENTER
The Mini-Center program offers an introduction, with hands-on experience, to some of the available services at MAB. Clients will participate in activities that will allow them to gain a core group of independent living skills such as making a sandwich, pouring a drink, and identifying money.
The program also offers an exploration of several community resources that provide opportunities for people who are blind or visually impaired. The participants are introduced to community facilities such as the Marion Diehl Recreation Center, the VIP travel club, and Camp Dogwood.
The Mini-Center provides the opportunity for socialization and support group discussion among group members, which lends towards the development of peer-support for the adjustment process.
