This diabetes education program was designed to raise awareness about the consequences of uncontrolled diabetes, and to provide tools and resources, empowering individuals to take control of their health through a wellness plan, including healthy eating, exercise, and meditation, and provided a cooking class, a yoga class, and a diabetic counselor, among other activities.

"Inspirational, awesome people, what an incredible experience."

“Sharing my experiences with the individuals in this class was a career highlight for me. Teaching, creating, changing, and feeding one mouth at a time! Thank you for giving me the opportunity to come in to share and educate – all in moderation, of course!” Chef Jay Z, CEC, Corporate R&D Chef Morrison Healthcare

“Big thanks to MAB for including Lions Services in the diabetes education program.”

“Through this program, employees learned how to better manage their diabetes with smart nutritional food choices and preventative healthcare, and included a class in chair yoga. Learning breathing and stretching techniques to de-stress and relax was a great experience – and for many, this was their first yoga experience! It was awesome and super relaxing. MAB is always welcome and we look forward to working together in the future on other educational opportunities”. Agatha Bisbikis, Development Director, Lion Services

We all agree: this program needs to continue in the future! Well done team, participants, and partners!
