Transportation

Transportation

The purpose of the transportation services at MAB is to assist individuals who are blind and visually impaired in maintaining an independent lifestyle by providing transportation for medical appointments, business and shopping trips. This program is designed to be one option for transportation while simultaneously educating the users on all types of transportation available in the area.

We have 3 seven-passenger vans. One van has an accessible ramp if you have difficulty entering or exiting a vehicle.

Cost

MAB fundraises to pay for approximately 80% of the cost of transportation so that we only ask for a small client contribution towards the ride.

The transportation fee is $10 per round-trip (up to 26 miles) and is due at the time of the ride. If the round-trip is over 26 miles, the cost will double to $20. The drivers will give you a receipt for the fee. The fee can be reduced for someone living below 125% of poverty - $5 up to 26 miles and $10 for over 26 miles. Please contact your case manager to fill out a hardship application to qualify for the reduction.
